Good Friday
Love the smell of this book btw.
Finally read finish this book, bought it like so many months ago. It was during one of trip last year to Guagua, I decided to take holy communion in my own prayer time. I remember in the small team of 5 people, we were taking holy communion and they were saying that they take it during their own quiet time. I remember me feeling surprised, holy communion can take during quiet time? To me, is a church thing. Because all of my christian life, I take it with the church. However, it was after the trip, when Pastor Maricon passing me a bag of bread and I thought to myself why not I just take holy communion with the bread and go NTUC and get juice as blood. I decided to take it with my mom and sis that night and we continue to take it few weeks..and then stop. I bought this book, wanting to read more up about holy communion. Because deep in my heart, i know the power of taking holy communion. "Every time we take Communion, we remind ourselves that the devil has been defeated."It was during one of the camp session, I shared my testimony about me taking holy communion. Is Good Friday today, what a right time to share about about this book. There were so many insights about Holy Communion in this book. So many facts to digest and think about that make me wish and want to do Holy Communion daily. The power of Holy Communion by Beni Johnson.Beni Johnson is an intercessor, she started to take Communion as a toll in her intercessory toolbox, as a purposeful and proactive part of her relationship with the Lord. She pray intentionally for the people and taking Communion, she pleads the blood of Jesus over their lives. It was fruitful. Using Communion as an intercession is aligning ourselves with Christ and also proclaiming the reality of Heaven over every area of our lives. Taking Holy Communion is a prophetic act, is a Holy Spirit-inspired physical action that disrupts the atmosphere. This act show a heart submitted to God. Jesus was giving us a way to align ourselves with Heaven and bring Heaven's reality to earth. There is something powerful in the spirit realm about the declaration of truth, reminding that we are the child of the King and we are strong in Him. A reminder that we can walk in His peace now matter what the circumstances surround us. As we take Communion, we are aligning our mind with God's, we are able to partner with Him to see breakthrough.
His world is our true reality.
Jesus gave us the ultimate covenant. It is the body and the blood of Jesus, shed for us. Each blood covenant was a promise of connection, protection and provision. When we take Communion, we are reminding ourselves of His sacrifice and the personal, unprecedented ways this New Covenant affects every area of our lives.
The blood of Jesus paid for everything, gave us freedom and authority.
We're reminded that the devil lost and has to watch us celebrate the resurrection power of Jesus.
This is Your body, broken got us.
This is Your blood that was poured out for us.
You died for our sins as well as our sicknesses.
We align ourselves- spirit, soul and body- with all you did.
Our weapon was Communion.
People can argue with theology, but your testimony is your most powerful tool.
Remembrance is vital for our walk as Christians
We know a reality that is greater than any circumstance we can see.
When we hear other people testimonies, we don't just marvel at God's goodness. We also say, "Do it again, God!"Testimonies are not just fond memories. They have a lifespan that's eternal. They continue to give God's praise. He wants to continue. Faith is what makes us human, no other species needs hope. Hope is what connects us to the future. We all have the power to create the future and the moment you lose hope you are disconnected from the future. When we take Holy Communion, we remember all He has done for the world and for ourselves personally and we can look toward the future with hope. When we think through all that He want through in the days leading up to His death help us to paint a picture to me of how to walk through pain. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can be free and whole.
Love took Him to the cross, and love kept Him there. This is His absolute and perfect love for us, all.
The importance of Holy Communion is to remember the fullness of what Jesus paid for and receiving the fullness in every area.
Thank you Jesus, that You have torn the veil and that you've washed us in your blood so that we can come into the presence of God.
When we take Communion we get to collect those stones of remembrance of His goodness and create a monument of thankfulness in our hearts.
The body and the blood is to remind us who we are and where our true home is. It is a reminder of our salvation, healing, comfort of His presence and His victorious return. Remember Jesus. Be everything that He created you so that His Kingdom can invade every single one of those situations, and the world can know a good, good Father. Communion is about lining ourselves up with Him-Spirit, soul and body. It is a chance for us to remember the debt of sin that hung around our necks too big for us to ever repay our own and the way that our Jesus took that debt with Him to the cross so that we could have life and have it abundantly. It is a prophetic proclamation for what has already happened, as well as what is yet to come.
The book wrote the truth and reality of the power of Holy Communion. I'm inspired and in awe- we can live a sozo life on earth.
Thank You for dying on the cross for us.
Happy Easter, all.
Do take your Holy communion in your own time. :)
